Just this afternoon, I helped a lady who was picking out an armload of beach reads. She had the paperback of HP7 in her stack. When I made a comment about book six, she said she had only seen the movie. Turns out I am *that* bookseller, the one who won't let you leave without the earlier book in the series. I had to explain that if she tried to read 7 with only the movie knowledge to back her up, she would be lost. Luckily, her son had told her much the same, so she picked up a copy of Half Blood Prince too. All I could think was that people are strange. I don't think I've ever skipped to the last book in a series on purpose like that. But I really would have felt like I was letting her down if I let her go without at least reading HBP before DH.

But I think the movies are wonderful companions to the stories and I totally enjoy most of them for what they are. As a matter of fact, I think 6 may be my favorite so far. (Good thing, since I am probably going to see it another time or two with various movie buddies!)
